Cancellation & refunds
Every case in which you can cancel and get money back, and how quickly it reaches you. If yours is not here, write to us: we would rather settle it than argue it.

Cancelled before the work begins
Refunded in full. Write to us from the address on the order before we start, and the whole payment goes back.
An audit we cannot run
If your journal's website blocks our crawler and still cannot be read once you have let it in, or given us a login, the audit is refunded in full.
An application refused for what we were paid to fix
Where an index refuses an application on grounds we were engaged to correct and had the access to correct, we redo that application once at no charge.
Ending a service part-way
Either side may end a services agreement with fourteen days' written notice. Work already paid for is then finished, or the part not yet done is refunded pro rata — the client chooses which.
Paid twice, or charged for an order that failed
If the same order was paid twice, or money left your account for a payment that did not go through to us, the extra amount is refunded in full once the payment record shows it.
Work that is finished
Fees for work that has been done are not refundable, because the work cannot be undone — except in the cases above.
How a refund is made
- Write to mou@smartscholars.in with the order or invoice number, or ask on WhatsApp. We answer with what we will refund, or why not.
- Once a refund is agreed, we start it within 7 days. It goes back the way you paid: to the same card, UPI or bank account through Razorpay, or by bank transfer for a payment you made directly. How long your bank or card then takes is up to them.
- Fees a journal pays to Crossref, an index or an archive go to those bodies directly, not to us; their refunds are theirs to decide.
